Some Important Stuff – Please Read!

Terms and Conditions of our Scheduled Tours

Acceptance of the conditions detailed below as per Scottish Law and Custom is implied when a booking is made. We do not store your personal and financial information or share it with anyone.

Luggage On over-night Please limit your luggage to a small suitcase, maximum weight 10kg per person.

We reserve the right not to carry luggage that we believe to be overweight.
 
Inclusions You are booking and paying for transportation and the services of a driver/guide only.

Accommodation, meals, refreshments and entry fees are NOT included.
 
Accommodation The cost of your accommodation is NOT included. 

Accommodation will be reserved in the clients name in one of these categories:

HOSTEL, B&B or HOTEL.

You will be told the name of your accommodation on the morning of departure.

Please note the client pays the accommodation provider directly and the client may remain liable for the total cost of the accommodation in the event of cancellation by the client.

Booking Confirmation Your seat reservation will only be confirmed when full payment is received by Real Scottish Journeys or an appointed agent.
Cancellation Policy

Scheduled Tours: A cancellation more than 21 days before tour departure – 100% refund.

A cancellation less than 21 days before tour departure – entirely at our discretion but typically no refund unless the seat(s) can be resold in which case 100% refund.

Private Tours: Deposits are non refundable. There are no refunds within 30 days of tour starting.

No refunds are offered if a customer is late for a tour/cannot find the pick-up point.
Please be there 15 mins before the advertised departure time.

Real Scottish Journeys reserves the right to cancel trips under exceptional circumstances.

In such cases clients will be promptly informed and offered: a transfer to a substitute tour or an alternative tour provided by another tour operator a full or partial refund of any monies paid to Real Scottish Journeys.

Real Scottish Journeys will not be liable for any travel or accommodation costs associated with reaching tour departure point or booked in anticipation of tour returning, even in the event of Real Scottish Journeys cancelling the tour. 

Travel Insurance Clients must have appropriate and adequate insurance to cover death, personal injury, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, loss of or damage to luggage and contents of same and expenses associated with cancellation or curtailment of a tour.

Each client is responsible for loss of or damage to baggage or personal possessions or consequential loss arising there from. In the event of client illness or client injury then the client must accept responsibility for any medical costs incurred and Real Scottish Journeys shall not be liable to refund any part of the tour cost.
 
Health and Safety The group must at all times abide by the directions of the Tour Guide.

Real Scottish Journeys reserves the right to terminate a tour if, in the opinion of the company the behaviour of a client or client group is, or is likely to be disruptive, dangerous or upsetting to other people or if such client or group have caused or are likely to cause damage to property.

Real Scottish Journeys will not pay any refund or costs incurred by a client in the event that a tour is terminated due to unacceptable behaviour.

No smoking in any of our vehicles.
 
Age policy The minimum age for our scheduled tours is 5 years old.

Passengers below the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
 
   

DAY TOURS - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 

In addition to the above the following additional terms and conditions apply.

Vehicles We reserve the right to change the type of mini-coach used if the circumstances dictate this is necessary
Alterations to Itineraries We reserve the right to change timetables or tour itineraries due to weather, availability of attractions, roadworks or any other situation beyond our control.

Refunds will not be offered in these circumstances.
 
Online Bookings If you book online within 24 hours of departure you MUST also phone Real Scottish Journeys (+44 (0)7825 330922) to confirm your booking.
Cancellations & Refunds Where the passenger cancels a tour reservation, the effective date of cancellation will be the date on which we receive notification by telephone, email or in writing.

Your notice of cancellation must be confirmed (in writing or verbally) as received by RSJ to be effective.
 
Day Tour Cancellation Charges Where the passenger cancels on the day of departure 100% of cost will be charged.

Where the passenger cancels 21 days prior to departure a full refund will be granted by RSJ if the seat can be resold.

Every effort will be made to resell the seat but a 100% charge will be applied if the seat cannot be resold.

In the event of a tour being cancelled by Real Scottish Journeys the customer will be fully refunded and every effort made to find a suitable alternative.
 
Complaints all complaints should be initially directed to your driver/guide who will make every effort to resolve the problem.

In the event that a complaint cannot be resolved on the day of the tour then it should be made in writing to info@realscottishjourneys.com
