Real Scottish Journeys - Travel for Curious Minds
Our one day tours of the Isle of Skye
The Isle of Skye is magical, wild and beautiful. Try to imagine, big sea cliffs and misty mountains. Picture rain soaked jeans, dark skies and dodging midges followed big rainbow smiles and sunshine. Or puffing up the stairs at Neist Point then later on later stepping out into the Fairy Glen in wonder. You will find it all and more when you tour of Skye with Real Scottish Journeys. On our day tours of Skye we visit some of the most remarkable places in Highland Scotland. We follow winding coastal roads then we climb up high above the ocean to cross the island on lonely mountain tracks that suddenly drop back down to the sea. It is a day of changing landscapes best enjoyed with your phone switched off.
Local Skye guides
We are local professional Skye guides. But we do not lead you everywhere. Our tours are the perfect mix of time on the bus and time to explore and discover Skye on your own. Time to stop, look, touch and listen. Time to take your own photographs. Time to make memories.
Getting the most from your visit to Skye
Be part of a new type of tourism. Slow down, take your time. Now there are even opportunities to contribute to the local community or take part in conservation projects as you travel. If you want do more than just take a few photos of Skye and move on, we recommend spending a minimum of three nights on Skye. Find a nice place to stay, get your bearings and hopefully come on a tour with us. We guarantee a small group tour with a local Scottish guide. Our tours are always flexible and fun. You will discover Scotland’s history, understand the landscape and listen to tall tales that have tumbled down through the years.
Our Island home
Skye is fragile, much of the island is working farmland. Please remember to follow the Scottish Outdoor Access code at all times. Please never leave litter, disturb livestock, disturb wildlife, move/dislodge stones, damage vegetation or pick wild plants. We work with local communities and support rural business when ever possible.
Our planet home
Climate change is real and it's here now! We are trying to run our tours efficiently. We have always tried to minimise driving time and maximise walking time. We use the cleanest most fuel efficient minibuses available. We are now pleased to also offer zero emission small group private tours on a fully electric small minibus.
Why book a Private Eco Tour?
Eco tours are are one day tours in our new fully electric mini bus. We can accommodate up to 8 passengers. Electric vehicles are quiet and green. Well over 95% of Scotland’s electricity is generated from renewables, so you can explore Skye in the knowledge you are starting to reduce your own carbon footprint as you travel. This is particularly important on small group tour.
Plan a low carbon visit to Skye
Please start by slowing down a bit, move less and stay put longer. Travel is about experience, about the people you meet and the friends you make. When possible use trains instead of planes and buses instead of cars. Search for sustainable accommodation. Support small independent local businesses and think about where the money that you spend is going. Make sure that it helps the communities that you are visiting. We are rewarding travellers who slow down and also use public transport, we will give you £5 cash back per customer. To qualify, just stay a minimum of three nights on Skye and reach us by public transport. Easy ! Of course, if you want to feel really good, you can ask us to donate the cash to a re-wilding project on Skye and help even more.
Safe travels and thanks for looking at our website!

Trip Advisor Review
“Best day in Scotland - hands down!”
Bill provides an excellent full day tour of Skye. He is a fantastic story teller and genuinely nice guy. He balances this full day out with walking time to explore the sights, so you are not in the minibus all day. But when you are, you are treated to breathtaking sights, and occasional stories that make the place come alive. Also, excellent Scottish music to fill some of the time as well. Truly the best day of a wonderful 11 day trip to Scotland. I can't recommend it highly enough.
