Our mini shore excursions maximise your time ashore on the Isle of Skye with the minimum of fuss. Time to get your land legs back and explore Portree. Take time to write a postcard or shop in our local bookstore. Our tour departs from the centre of town and then you are off to explore Northern Skye's dramatic coastline. You criss cross the island over the pass that defines Skye, the Quiraing. No big coaches up there. Then back to Portree, time for lunch and a bit more exploring on your own.

Wonderful tour....Murray was an excellent guide and whilst now exhausted we think this will be the highlight of our holiday to Skye. Highly recommend. |

You arrive in our capital Portree. It was known as Kiltragleann until the 16th century. The modern name may celebrate a visit by a Scottish King or mean port of the hillside. It is a fairly sheltered harbour. There are fine views of the town and the Cuillin Mountains.
Passengers are tendered ashore to a small pier. It is only a short walk to the town centre. Our meeting point is in the main square, it is only a 5 minute walk (uphill) . There are plenty of shops and a small supermarket close by. There are several banks with ATM's too.
